What happens in a roulette round?
Roulette uses a numbered wheel, a ball, and a corresponding selection layout. Before the timer closes, you choose the number, group, or property you think will match the result. The dealer spins the wheel and ball in a live title; an automated title completes the wheel sequence without an interacting dealer.
The current HelloMillions live roulette page lists Live Roulette, Gravity Roulette, and Auto Roulette as distinct formats. The exact title matters because wheel type, special features, timing, and prize rules can differ.
When the ball settles, one pocket is the result. The interface marks winning selections and clears the layout for the next round.
How is the table layout organized?
The main number grid contains 1 through 36, split into three columns and twelve rows. Each number has a fixed red or black assignment; the colors do not alternate throughout the layout. Odd and even numbers are distributed across the grid. Zero sits outside the three main columns and outside both color groups. A double-zero wheel also contains 00.
Common wheel types are:
| Wheel | Pockets | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Single-zero | 37, numbered 0 through 36 | Whether any special zero rule applies |
| Double-zero | 38, adding 00 | The separate 0 and 00 positions on the layout |
| Special-feature | Varies by title | Multipliers, altered prize rules, or feature conditions |
Do not identify the wheel from the game’s name alone. Open the rules and inspect the visible layout before making a selection.
What are inside selections?
Inside selections cover one number or a small neighboring group on the number grid. Common names include:
- Straight: one number.
- Split: two adjacent numbers.
- Street: three numbers in one horizontal row.
- Corner: four numbers meeting at one grid intersection.
- Six line: two adjacent streets, covering six numbers.
Fewer covered numbers usually means a larger award if the selection matches, but also fewer wheel results that qualify. The exact prize table controls. A special title may add other selection types, so do not assume this list is exhaustive.
What are outside selections?
Outside selections cover larger groups shown around the number grid:
- red or black;
- odd or even;
- 1 through 18 or 19 through 36;
- first, second, or third dozen;
- first, second, or third column.
Zero and 00 are neither red nor black, neither odd nor even, and outside the 1-through-36 groups. Unless the exact table has a special rule, an outside selection does not qualify when zero or 00 is the result. Check the rules for any return or carryover treatment.
The current Live Roulette by ICONIC21 page confirms that the title provides both inside and outside selections. It does not make those rules universal for every roulette variant.
How do you place and review selections?
Choose the coin mode and table, then confirm the minimum and maximum shown for the current session. Select a coin value and tap the layout. The interface should show the selected positions and total committed amount. Use undo or clear only while the round still permits changes.
Before the timer reaches zero:
- Confirm the wheel type.
- Check every highlighted position.
- Review the total coin amount, including repeated selections.
- Make sure an automatic repeat control is not active unintentionally.
- Stop interacting when the table closes selections.
Late taps may be rejected or applied differently depending on the interface. The round history records earlier results but does not change the probability of the next independent spin.
What changes between live, automated, and feature roulette?
A live table streams a dealer and physical wheel. Auto Roulette can use an automated physical wheel with faster rounds. A feature version such as Gravity Roulette can add multipliers or other title-specific rules. These formats can share the standard layout while differing in timing and prize calculation.
If video and controls move out of sync, stop new selections and preserve the title, provider, time, coin mode, and round identifier. Do not assume refreshing cancels an accepted selection. Distinguish streamed and automated formats using How live dealer games work.
How does coverage change the award?
On a standard layout, a straight selection covers one pocket, a split covers two, a street covers three, a corner covers four, a six line covers six, a dozen or column covers twelve, and an even-chance selection covers eighteen numbered pockets. Covering fewer pockets generally corresponds to a larger award for a match; covering more corresponds to a smaller award.
That tradeoff does not make one selection objectively better. Under ordinary rules, the zero pocket remains outside red-black, odd-even, and low-high groups. A double-zero wheel adds another uncovered pocket for those outside selections. Special rules can alter how zero is treated, so read the table information rather than applying a rule from another wheel.
Combining overlapping selections can make the total committed amount hard to see. The same winning number may qualify under several selected groups, while each group has its own coin amount and prize rule. Review the on-screen total before the timer closes.
Do not use the result board to rebalance colors or columns. A long sequence in one group does not create a compensating requirement in the next spin.
Racetrack and saved-selection interfaces can present the same wheel groups in a different shape. They are shortcuts for placing defined selections, not a different wheel result. Open the help panel before using a named group, because its included numbers and total coin amount may not be obvious from the label.
At a live table, the dealer may announce that selections are closing before the interface disables input. Treat the on-screen confirmation as the record of acceptance. Do not assume a late tap counted merely because its animation appeared.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between inside and outside selections?
Inside selections cover one or a few neighboring numbers. Outside selections cover broader groups such as colors, parity, columns, or dozens.
Is zero red or black?
Neither. Zero, and 00 on a double-zero wheel, also sit outside odd-even and 1-through-36 groups.
Does roulette history predict the next result?
No. A history panel records prior rounds. It does not make a number, color, or group due on the next independent spin.
Does every roulette table have a live dealer?
No. HelloMillions currently includes Auto Roulette alongside live titles. Check the title and format label.
Can a feature roulette title use different rules?
Yes. Multipliers, timing, and prize calculation can vary. Read the rules for the exact title before joining.
