Which option matches the kind of protection I need?
HelloMillions publishes four separate controls for reducing or stopping access. The right choice depends on whether you want limits while the account remains usable, a fixed short pause, a longer period with no account access, or ordinary closure handled by Customer Support.
| Option | Published duration | Access during the period | Can it be ended early? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Spend or session limits | Ongoing until changed | Account remains available within the selected limit | Lower limits take effect immediately; increases or removal take 24 hours |
| Time-Out | 1 to 30 days | No purchases or gameplay; account details and redemption requests remain accessible | No |
| Self-Exclusion | 1 month to 1 year | No login or account activity | No, not before the period ends |
| Account closure | No fixed period published | Account is closed after support confirms the request | A reopening request can be made, but approval is not guaranteed |
If you need a longer barrier and do not want to be able to log in, Self-Exclusion is the published option designed for that purpose.
How do I set Time-Out or Self-Exclusion?
The current Player Safety page gives this route:
- Sign in to your Customer Account.
- Open Player Trust & Safety Controls.
- Choose Time-Out or Self-Exclusion.
- Select the available duration and review the effect before confirming.
Time-Out cannot be cancelled after it is set. During Time-Out, you cannot make purchases or play games, but you may log in to view account details or request redemptions.
Self-Exclusion cannot be reversed until its selected period ends. During Self-Exclusion, you cannot log in or access account activities. Do not create another account or use a different email address to bypass it; circumvention may result in a permanent ban.
What happens when Self-Exclusion ends?
Access does not restart automatically. HelloMillions will not email you to reactivate the account. The account remains closed until you contact Customer Support, and a 24-hour cooling-off period applies after you request reactivation.
You are not required to reactivate. If you want the protection to continue, leave the account closed or discuss the next step with Customer Support.
The policy recommends unfollowing HelloMillions on social media. It also says Self-Exclusion applies per account, so customers with accounts at other brands, websites, or applications operated by the company need to visit those services separately if they want exclusions there too.
What happens to account balances and records?
Gold Coin refunds or transfers are not permitted during Self-Exclusion, and Virtual Currency balances expire after 60 days of account inactivity.
HelloMillions retains account information according to its Privacy Policy. If you need account history while excluded, the Player Safety page directs you to Customer Support. A privacy-rights request is separate from Self-Exclusion or closure.
When is ordinary account closure the better fit?
The Player Safety page distinguishes ordinary closure from Self-Exclusion. It says customers who simply want to close the account, without permanently preventing access to the services, can contact Customer Support.
Account closure is not a substitute for a safety barrier when you need a fixed period in which access cannot be restored. Conversely, support should not place obstacles in the way of a customer who has chosen ordinary closure. The published Help Center process asks for your name, registered email address, and reason for closing.
Where can I get help beyond account controls?
If gameplay feels difficult to control, consider speaking with a qualified medical professional or counselor. The World Health Organization explains that gaming disorder involves impaired control, gaming taking priority over other activities, and continuation despite negative consequences; only a qualified professional can assess your circumstances.
Gaming Addicts Anonymous offers peer-support meetings for people who want to stop problematic game use. If you are in emotional distress or thinking about harming yourself, call or text 988 or use 988 Lifeline chat. Call emergency services if there is immediate danger.
